Spring lipsticks – Top picks

Hi Sweets,

the covIts spring!! Although you wouldn’t believe it looking out the window today.  Hail, rain, wind and yup cold, lol.  What better way to warm up the senses than talking about spring lips?  I have gone with 12 lip options that I think will be amazing this season, and even if you aren’t currently in spring these lipsticks will be a perfect pop of colour.

nudesThe nudes

Hour Glass Femme Nude – Nude No.6:  This is my perfect nude lip, a mauvey nude with a slight brown undertone.  I have two of these lipsticks and they are really beautiful.  They are lightweight, with a satin finish and I think they look incredible with a smokey eye, especially when you pair with a glowy skin and pop on the cheek!

Chanel Rogue Coco Shine – 54 Boy:  The perfect universal nude.  Its sheer yet can be built up to be quite a striking colour.  It wears lovely on the lips and gives off a gorgeous sheen.  Boy, is just a perfect ‘throw it on and go’ kinda lipstick and looks lovely with either a no-makeup makeup look or a full on sultry look.

pinkiesCorals and Pinks

Lime Crime – Geradium:  Geradium is a fluro coral pink.  It is intensely saturated in colour, opaque and quite long wearing.

Maybelline Coloursensational – Pink Peony:  This is a rich lipstick that provides a pop of colour on the lips.  It’s a mid-tone coral with rosey hues and has a subtle white shimmer.  A lovely feminine coral that is sweet and perfect for the day time.

Holika Holika Moisture Lipstick – RD807:  This is a fun, flirty candy red and as the name suggests, it’s incredibly moisturising and rather long lasting.  It has sweet orange oil, grapefruit oil and olive oil, so it has a lovely cream finish.  The packaging is so cute, the lipstick is in the shape of a heart and you can’t help but feel bright and youthful when applying and wearing this lipstick.  I need more of these.

Lime Crime Velvetine – Suedeberry:  This is a striking long wearing, matte coral red.  The colour is vibrant and is super fun for spring.

Milani Colour Statement Lipstick – Flamingo Pose (12):  A vivacious coral, the perfect mix of orange and pink and is truly fabulous.  It really livens up a look and as with all the Colour Statement colours, this is creamy, pigmented, gives a nice stain and is super long wearing.

YSL Rogue Volupte – 31:  This is a very bold fuchsia pink.  It’s creamy, smooth, has a silken finish and moisturising, what more can you ask for?

Rimmel Moisture Renew – In love with ginger:  If you love an orange-red lipstick, but can’t find one that has decent staying power and is super moisturising, this is definitely the one for you!  Must have for those bold lip days!

Dior Lip Glow – Coral:  I chose this product because it’s one that is forever in my handbag. I take it everywhere.  It’s as moisturising as a lip balm, but works with the chemistry of your lips to create the perfect, natural pinky coral. I adore this product!

Mac – Rebel (Satin):  Need I say more?  This is my favourite lipstick from MAC and is a year round colour for me.  There is something quite chic, pairing a soft spring face and adding Rebel to finish off the look.  It’s a stunning plum, with pink undertones that suits almost everyone.

Kat Von D Foiled Love Lipstick – FTW:  This is a metallic raspberry colour with a hint of burgundy. The frostiness in this colour is less apparent than I would expect for a frost finish but that’s why I think this lipstick is perfect for spring. It adds a little gleam to the lips and the packaging is quite lux.  I instably feel a lil ‘badass when I wear this colour (embrace your inner chola :P)

There you have it my current picks for spring.  What season are you currently in and what lipsticks are your staples?

As always thanks for stopping by, please follow my blog using tab on the left if you like, I would love you to join the Sweet family 😉
-Thanks, Rachill
