Today I am coming at you with another review on Dior. This time I am showcasing an eye shadow palette from the Dior Holiday Couture Collection. Dior often come out with some lovely holiday offerings alongside their main Holiday collection (see that post here) and this wee gem was a surprising find.
If you couldn’t get your hands on anything from the Golden Shock Collection, then this would be a great item to pick. It has stunning packaging, is a great stocking stuffer or gift or just a treat for yourself, from yourself.
This palette has four shadows that are perfect when creating a glamorous eye look, just what the holiday doctor ordered. I bring you the glamorous Dior Golden Tie Holiday 2014 Couture Palette, all presented in a well-dressed suit, so to speak! This palette sports a sophisticated leather-like blazer (outer packaging), complete with gold trimming and a silk bow tie, has a magnetic closure and the typical sponge tip applicator.
The Couture Smoky Eye Palette features four shades of harmonising shadows to create multiple complete eye looks for day and night. Base 1-is a lovely pearlescent white with a light gold base and fine pink shimmer, Colour 2-is rich matte warm brown that blends effortlessly, Iridescent Smoky 3-really encompasses the holiday feel and is a warm toned gold with a kaleidoscopic shimmer and for the finishing touches there is Matte Smoky 4-a deep blackened brown. All of these holiday-rific shades are buttery smooth and apply really well to the lid, #4 has a tendency to be a little chalky, but I say that with hesitation as it is a true matte shadow and acts accordingly.
All in all, I love the sleek modern feel of this palette and appreciate the smoky tones you can create with the shadows.
How has your week been? Good I hope!! Anything makeup treasures you have been indulging in lately.
